Fab City Hub Voices with Tomas Diez, Fab Lab Bcn / IAAC
As you know, one of my projects is Volumes, an agency promoting positive impact ecosystems. Among other things, thanks to the European Centrinno programme, we are supporting the activation of 9 creative and productive hubs in 9 European cities. In the context of this project we have also activated a programme of online meetings that we have called: Fab City Hub Voices
Meet the founders of the most remarkable Creative and Productive Hubs in Europe.
A series of webinars to learn about the challenges involved in activating such projects, but also to understand all the opportunities they open up for the local innovation ecosystem.
Tomas Diez is a Venezuelan Urbanist who specializes in digital fabrication and its implications in future cities and society. He is the co-founder and director of Fab Lab Barcelona at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) and is a founding partner of the Fab City Global Initiative. He is also the director of the Master in Design for Emergent Futures at IAAC, as well as a founding partner of the Meaningful Design Group.
Fab Lab Barcelona, located at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), provides access to the tools, knowledge and means to educate, innovate and invent using technology and digital fabrication to allow anyone to make (almost) anything. We create the opportunity for communities and citizens to improve global and local lives and livelihoods. Our primary beneficiaries are community organisations, educational institutions and non-profits.
